Off-road Driving Instruction

We are a little particular and strict in handing over the keys to one of our fully rigged 4 x4 vehicles, mainly because there are many factors out there that can turn an adventure self drive holiday into a nightmare and a costly rescue mission.

We require all named drivers being over the age of 25 years old and holding a clean driving license for at least 5 years. Further more your request may be declined if we feel that you do not hold enough prior experience driving 4 x 4 vehicles in the conditions that Tanzania holds or if the route you are looking to journey down is not suitable due to season, known road conditions and simple being so remote that encase of incident it would be very difficult in getting assistance out there to you.

For those who have had some experience but still a little uncertain about heading out into the African bush alone we do have a special designed 4 x 4 vehicle familiarization package that can be tagged on at the beginning of your self-drive adventure where upon arrival we can offer a two day advanced 4 x 4 driving course with one of our own experienced drivers to introduce you into the do’s and don’ts of driving in the African bush along with rules and consideration when approaching wildlife that can behave in a unpredictable manner.

National Parks also impose rules to abide by for the safety of yourselves and as not to disturb wildlife from their normal routine; all these will become second nature during your time with one of the Bush 2 Beach drivers so that you are confident and will get the most out of yourself drive holiday.

We are only able to offer this service if heading up into the Northern Safari circuit which we are happy to design for you after hearing your wishes, we know several secret locations which we are happy to share with you offering routing away from the madding crowds and special camp locations that introduce you to the Tanzania bush without having to watch the clock as your park entrance time slowly tick away.

The North offers a whole infrastructure of amenities available to us in a relatively close proximity to one another so if we do need to send out assistance it is doable in a comfortable given time, so hopefully you can continue your journey without to much delay. The condition of the roads into most popular National Parks have recently undergone upgrades and are in fairly good condition so with the exception of an area between the NCA and Serengeti, driving can be very pleasant and rewarding.

However, anything in Tanzania can happen, rains can fall unexpectedly swelling rivers to over bursting point.
