Without a shadow of a doubt no better way to travel into the Tanzania bush and has become a Bush 2 Beach specialty and trade mark. Over the years we have been fine tuning our semi lux mobile set up and now feel that we have ‘everything you need and nothing you don’t. The safari experience is paramount with Special camp sites reserved privately for you to base your game drives out of, if you need to rest then your driver guide will take you back to the camp to sit and ponder under a shady tree or in the private mess tent.

The semi lux set up has been designed in that your comfort level will not be compromised and you really can afford to flop back and simple do nothing, there will always be time for game drives and the beauty of these quiet camp locations is that the wildlife although knowing and weary of your existence still pass by with the flick of a tail and the wink of an eye. Game drives and the wildlife are truly amazing but allowing that time to reflect is empowering and grounding at the same time, soaking in the ambiance that your own private piece of Serengeti will reveal to you after spending a few days based in one spot.

Safaris should not be all about go go go it is important part of a well designed wildlife safari to stop and just be still for awhile. As our Semi lux set up is so comprehensive it also opens up the freedom to roam and deliver you the intrepid adventurer traveler to these truly magnificent wilderness areas, which would otherwise be non accessible.

The Semi lux mobile camp safaris can be executed in x 2 ways – The first method is when we pack all camp gear, including special designed 7 foot long double camp beds allowing snuggling opportunities to loved ones, all this and more including the bush bar is packed Into custom made off road trailers. You also will be accompanied by the camp crew which consists of a camp assistant/host and safari chef, who will travel with you during game drive en-route to the camp locations. Upon arrival the camp crew simple un–hook the trailer allowing you time to stretch your legs in the vicinity of the Special camp area then you continue with game drives whilst the camp and kitchen is erected. You return after several hours to a full set camp and delicious refreshments – hot water is being prepared for you to enjoy a bush shower and your sleeping tents awaits, cool and large enough for you to relax with reflections of your days game activities. Dinner is served in the mess tent with full drop down mosquito netting more so against moths and other flying critters than mosquito’s which are attracted to the camp lights. After dinner you are free to sit back and enjoy a night cap with the night chorus drumming out a rhythmic beat in the still of the African night, a true ‘Out of Africa’ experience guaranteed.

The 2nd way we put a Semi lux mobile camp together is with the use of a supply car – this frees up the Safari vehicle completely and you will travel only with the driver guide in the game viewing vehicle when the supply car is used. We recommend a supply car when you are perhaps considering traveling with friends or children as the supply car and crew are always ahead of you or will pass you during your days game drives. The advantages are space in the game viewing vehicle and secondly the camp is fully set when you arrive, always an advantage with young adventurous children. There is an additional staff member who is usually a professional driver guide but doubles as a camp manager and host. The beauty with the semi lux mobile camp safaris with repeated feed back from those who have traveled in the past with us, is that the camp crew add to the over all safari experience and for sure after spending a 6 to 10 days with these individuals you will find that what begun with initial introductions as strangers will having you bidding tearful farewell as friends.

We had an absolutely fantastic trip and I cannot say enough good things about the crew, Paulo, Edwin, Valance et. al. By the end of the trip, everyone was beginning to feel like family.

Semi-Luxury Mobile Camp inventory

• Mess tent with drop down mosquito netting – 4 opening doors to allow the cool breezes to come through during the hottest part of the day
• Toilet and Shower tent – Chemical toilets are a must in the National Parks and hot water is available on request for private bush showers
• 3 meters square x 2.4 meter high canvas rip stop dome tents
• Single and Double camp beds
• 2 meter x 100 x 75 thick – high density foam mattresses with fitted covers.
• Full bedding, fitted sheets, tops sheets, duvet, pillows
• Face and Hand towels ( we do recommend you bring your own as we can not guarantee clean towels daily due to the nature of the safari and water and drying problems that we face from being mobile)
• Camp tables and Safari Chairs
• Kerosene camp lights, rechargeable tent lanterns, hand torch and emergency whistle
• Safari camp table for drinking water and personal items in side sleeping tent
• All cutlery and crockery for breakfast and dinner – hot lunches can be provided and will be decided amongst the camp crew on how each day will unfold in regards to game activities.
• Bush Bar (when deciding on a semi lux safari we stock a bush bar with your favorite beverages that you can purchase and settle with the camp host at the end of the trip we do our outmost to provide a cold beer or a nice glass of chilled white wine but again due to the nature and location of some of these camps ice is a harder to find than the shy leopard )
• Mineral Drinking water x 1.5 liters a day (water is also available from the bush bar )
