Paradise special camp

A very natural camp with wonderful bush surroundings. Located outside the park, about 10 km from the main Tarangire N.P entrance.

Surrounded by wild palm bush, basic facilities, but hot water provided upon request. New developments as of June 2006 into adding a number of permanent tents with African grass roof shelters.

Visit the Mangnati tribes and early morning walking wildlife safaris are possible form camp location.

Kigongoni camp (Zion Camp)

A well used camp just on the outskirts of Tarangire N.P. Can be noisy and is a little worn on the edges but still remains very popular due to it being the closest camp to the gate.

Lake Burunge Tented Camp

A Bush2Beach hide-away, outside of Tarangire National park and overlooking lake Burunge. All facilities are carried in and set up for a couple of day’s exploration in the surrounding areas. The location of the camp is about 15 kms from Tarangire N.P – we only visit this camp when there is water in the lake, in the dry months the lake can dry up completely.

Good birding, nature walks, local fishing practices, cultural tourism can be conducted from the camp.

Fig tree special camp

This hidden camp offers piece of mind and a moment to stop and enjoy the awesome views of the Great Rift Valley wall towering above.

Waterfall close by to wake up with or cool down during the hottest part of the day, nature walks, cultural walks, close by game drives of Tarangire N.P. all this and more under the shade of a giant strangling fig.

Tarangire Safari lodge

In our eyes the best location in Tarangire N.P – Built on top of a high bluff with a breathtaking panorama over the plains and the Tarangire River. A favorite watering place, which attracts impressive numbers and variety of game.

The scene unfolds before you while lounging on the outdoor patio, allowing you to appreciate Tarangire’s diverse wildlife without ever leaving the lodge. The central dinning room is an impressive high thatched roof  building with open-sides the design allows an uninterrupted view of the landscape and wildlife below.

Each of the 35 double tents come complete with electricity, comfortable beds, running water, a flush toilet, and a solar heated shower. There are also four bungalows made of stone with thatched roofs and en suite bathrooms, which are perfect for triples and families.

Tarangire river camp

This permanent luxury camp is located just put side the park gate of Tarangire National Park. It is possible to conduct early morning walking safaris before breakfast and game drive of the Tarangire.

The camp overlooks the Tarangire River and offers stunning views of the vast plains across the park, Lake Manyara, the Rift Valley and the Ngorongoro highlands. Mt. Meru and Kilimanjaro can be seen in clear days.

Ten spacious luxury tents are complete with running water including attached toilet and hot water showers. 220v solar power is available 24 hours a day. Meals are served in the dinning banda with central Baobab tree growing straight out of the roof..

Tarangire Sopa lodge

The Tarangire Sopa lodge is located a short distance inside the park gates, one would think it is a hyrax sanctuary as these small mammals dart from every corner. Wildlife is easily viewed from the terrace that opens out from the lounge bar set up.

It offers 75 well furnished rooms are located in a resort type set up, with a concrete walk ways leading to swimming pool and gardened area. Rooms are fully air-conditioned. Conference facilities available.

Maramboi Tented Camp

Maramboi Tented Camp offers permanent camp facilities and stunning views of the Manyara National Park, Rift Valley, Ngorongoro highlands and on clear days even Oldonyo Lengai a sacred mountain to the Maasai.

10 spacious tents built on ample wooden decks offer en-suite facilities and private veranda with 24 hours 220V electric lighting.

Meals are served in the mess tent located in the centre of the camp or under the breathtaking starlit sky and a central lounge area provides ample space for relaxatoin, as well as a small library.

Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge

Nestled on the banks of the Tarangire river, only 5 km’s from the main gate, Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge offers 21 luxury en-suite tents, each with a unique theme with beautifully handcrafted furniture and uniquely built animal shaped baths as well as showers. Two of these tents are specially constructed with inter-connecting doors and a common verandah to cater for a family unit of up to 8.

A swimming pool with pool-side bar offers relaxation after a long day on safari. Dining is server in the Olevolos Restaurant that boasts of wonderful international & local dishes after which you can end the day next to a huge campfire under a serene starlit sky as resident Maasai dancers complete the scene.

Boundary Hill Tarangire

Boundary Hill Lodge, Tanzania’s newest wildlife experience is located high above the savannah where agama lizards and the red flowers of aloe vera provide a vivid and eye-catching contrast to herbs, grasses and bare rocks.

Literally perched on the edge of Tarangire National Park, among trees and rock outcrops, the lodge is nestled into the cliffs and huge granite slabs. Built of natural materials, predominantly local stone, wood and burnt brick, Boundary Hill Lodge offers outstanding views over the Silale and Gosuwa swamps, where elephant and buffalo graze among the acacia and baobab trees beneath the vastness of Africa’s sky.

Consisting of only eight very spacious individually designed rooms, the lodge is designed to offer as much privacy as possible. None of the rooms are overlooked. All of them have private sitting areas, spacious balconies and spectacular views. Mawe Ninga Tented Camp

Situated on top of a kopje, in the west of Tarangire National Park, Mawe Ninga Tented Camp looks out over the soda lake of Lake Burungi, with Lake Manyara in the far distance. The best vista is across the small central bridge to the dramatic campfire, sited on the edge of a large rounded boulder.

Mawe Ninga’s 12 canvas tents are raised on high wooden decks. The tents are internally divided to create a bedroom and bathroom/dressing area, and facilities are very simple: log beds, a coat stand, small lamps, a small canvas shower and chemical toilet.

Tarangire Tree tops Lodge

An easy 2hrs drive out of Arusha to the park boundaries of Tarangire N.P, this safari camp offers the true essence of rustic luxury. The rooms are beautifully designed using a combination of canvas and wood and local materials.

The private “treehouse” suites are elevated to give impressive views over the grass land to Tarangire’s N.P.. Each comfortable room has an en suite bathroom with hot and cold water shower and flush toilets. The camp is tastefully decorated in local crafts and furnishings.

It has an ambiance of luxurious simplicity with friendly and unobtrusive service. At you leisure it is possible to take early morning game drives, walking safaris and night drives.

Oliver’s camp

Oliver’s Camp is one of Tanzania’s best bush camps a place designed to compliment the un-spoilt wilderness of this area offering excellent in-house guides for walking safaris around the pristine bush areas. Being inside the park, close to the edge, it allows for walking safaris and fly-camping under the stars.

The camp is set in very attractive acacia woodland in prime position for the herds of migratory animals that flood into the park at the beginning of the dry season and out again onto the Maasai Steppe and rift valley in November. Offering 5 fully furnished tents with en-suite facilities, stylishly furnished with wooden furniture.

A lounge and a library tent serve as a relaxing respite from a day of tracking game. It is well beyond the reach of most tourists who visit the park so if you’re looking to get away from the crowds for some time then this bush camp is for you. From it’s location on the eastern boundary of the park you have access to the main Tarangire River but if you feel like a day off from the driving safari it is possible to explore the much less known wilderness areas by foot.

Swala tented camp

Swala Luxury Safari Camp offers an experience that is both exclusive in its setting and luxurious in its style. Game viewing opportunities in this hidden pocket of Tarangire N.P. This area is famous for large herds of elephants with over 300 species of birds. Animals roam freely through the camp with a resident leopard sometimes making a guest appearance at the waterhole.

Swala’s 8 luxury tents are fitted with fine fixtures and fittings crafted from local materials, wooden floors and furniture create the time-honored safari style, all tents are en-suite. Each safari tents has its own elevated terrace facing a waterhole that attracts wildlife year-round.

Fine African cuisine is served in a comfortable mess tent with full silver service. Each tent is serviced by a personal attendant along with masai guards to accompany you back to your tent at night.

Tamarind tented camp

Tamarind safari camp is located 15 minutes from the entrance to Tarangire National Park on a privately owned concession.

Positioned in a grove of beautiful Acacia Tortilis trees and recently completely renewed, the camp is set in 200 acres of Acacia woodland and bush, which is constantly evolving into an ever more stunning setting, right on the boundary of the Park. Magnificent 1000-year-old giant Baobab trees punctuate the park where large herds of elephant and other game seasonally swell the large numbers of resident game.

Due to Tamarind setting being out of the park, walking and short night game drives are key draws to this intimate bush camp.
