Kitulo N.P – Livingstone mountains – Lake Nyasa. Vast wilderness areas, botany, great for trekking. Possible treks 3 – 4 days along village paths through the unexplored Livingstone Mountain ranges to Lake Nyasa (Lake Malawi). – Matema lake front awaits those who step forth. Cultural tourism, dug outs boat trips to pottery peninsula. Snorkeling amongst the third largest concentrations of cichlid species.

Features

Kitulo National park, Wild flowers over 40 species wild African orchids, irises, aloes, geraniums and many many more. Butterflies, bird life and primates. Mt Mtorwi 2691mts. Lake Nyasa also known as Lake Malawi, the border between both countries runs through the middle – 550km long ans 75 km wide with depths up to 700mtrs in parts.

Best time to visit

November to April (during the rains the plateau springs into an explosion of color, tracks become muddy for trekking though)
