The busy city of Dar es Salaam offers a convenient jumping point to exotic destinations of Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia Islands, along with the National Parks of the south. Dar es Salaam is commonly known as the business capital, most of life revolving around the harbor, with the business district fanning out into a rabbit warren of crowded streets both people and traffic. Generally people stay for a couple of days either upon arrival or before departure. It is possible to escape the heat and humidity of the city with several close by beaches. Dar es Salaam does offer great dinning with an abundance of different classes of restaurant and local eateries for those who want to experience the true culinary delights of this busy Tanzania hub.
