Simply Saadani Camp

Simply Saadani Camp (formerly A Tent With A View safari lodge), is a beautiful authentic camp which blends effortlessly into the natural environment.

Located on an old coconut plantation, the 11 tented rooms (“bandas”) are raised several metres above the sand on large wooden platforms with large terraces. All the rooms face the Indian ocean. The banda design cleverly incorporates canvas walls and roof with wooden doors and lovely bathrooms fashioned from coconut trees knocked down by elephants on the plot. This gives the feeling of sleeping under canvas but with something more substantial than a tent.

Each room has solar powered lights and hot water. Enjoy lovely food in the thatched restaurant prepared by local chefs from locally sourced produce and relax in the lovely bar area watching bush babies and vervet monkeys and stunning birdlife. The camp has a wildlife research centre where you can learn about the camp’s elephant conservation work. There are also canoe rides on the local tidal creek on the camp’s plot as well as colour-coded nature trails.
